Gong Cha, George Street Sydney

Hear ye hear ye! There's a new milk tea joint in town and it goes by the name of Gong Cha. It is a milk tea brand that has gained popularity in Asian countries like Taiwan, Singapore, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea and Philippines. They have over 200 stores worldwide and has finally opened one here in our beloved city of Sydney.

Gong Cha first came to my attention through a friend of mine who lives in Singapore. She raved about the awesomeness of Gong Cha and made me wish we had a store here. Well, a few days ago my wish came true. Gong Cha opened their Sydney store right on George Street (opposite World Square), near Goulburn Street. The only thing left for me to do was to put their milk teas to the test. Here are some of the milk teas that I've tried so far:

earl grey milk tea with 3J

The earl grey milk tea with 3J is a lightly sweetened earl grey milk tea with three types of jelly. Namely: Pudding jelly, herbal jelly, and sweetened pearls. I love Gong Cha’s pearls! It has a caramelised sweet taste and a perfect chewy texture.

Gong Cha milk foam green tea

The Gong Cha milk foam green tea is so refreshing! The combination of the velvet texture and subtle sweet green tea taste won me over straight away!

fresh milk with red bean and pudding

The fresh milk with red bean and pudding is a heavy kind of drink with different textures. I quite like the combination of soft jelly pudding and milk tea. The red bean gave every sip a nice sweet taste.

taro milk tea 

The taro milk tea is not overly sweet, which goes really well with Gong Cha’s sweet pearls.

So is Gong Cha as awesome as they say it is? In my opinion, yes, yes, and yes! On my next visit, I would like to try their wintermelon tea latte & royal pearl milk tea.

EasyWay - Fruit Pulp Party 2

Summer is gone (well, it didn't feel like we had one anyway) and now, we've entered the autumn zone. We will soon see less of singlets and shorts as the season draws closer to winter. Clothing may go out of fashion at some point, but fruits and milk tea will not!

In my opinion, EasyWay's milk teas and shakes are soothing refreshments all year round. Easy Way has yet again taken innovative steps to bring us a range of new & enticing drinks to cater to a wide range of taste buds. We now enter "The Fruit Pulp Party II" zone. Adding pineapple, mango or passionfruit to your favourite bases such as milk teas, iced black/green tea, shakes etc. takes classic EasyWay drinks to another level of refreshing taste.

Mango pulp milk tea - It tastes like a normal milk tea for a second or two. But as soon as the mango pulps follows, it turns the milk tea into a more tropical type blend. The pulps are a sweeter alternative to pearls.

Passion fruit pulp black tea - it is lightly sweetened and a little bit sour. The passionfruit taste in the drink is a little bit more dominant than the black tea flavour.

Pineapple milkshake - it tastes like piña colada minus the alcohol after taste.

Pineapple pulp green tea - lightly sweetened with a strong green tea taste. The pulp adds a nice texture & extra fruity sweetness to the drink.

Passionfruit pulp frappe (extra green apple jelly optional) – I love the after taste. I recommend adding green apple jelly to this drink.

Mango pulp milkshake -  It is a creamy and fruity shake. The vanilla ice cream is used in the shake.

Summer is just around the corner! I know a lot of y'all are so excited about the upcoming season. Our beautiful sunny beaches will be packed again and the sight of outdoor sports will be everywhere. While it is a fun season, the heat on the other hand can be pretty annoying. So, where could we go to cool our systems down during the heat? Why not head to Easy Way!

                               

Easy Way has released a range of tropical smoothies. Drinks that will help you chillax during the high temperatures of summer.  Good quality fruits, ice creams and juices  are used in their  range of delicious smoothies.

Classic Mango:

It was like liquefied fresh mango that was thick in texture and fresh in taste.  

Mango Pash - Mango, Passionfruit, Banana, Apple & Orange Juice, Ice cream:

The creamy mango texture and taste served as the perfect carrier to the passionfruit’s sweet and slight sour taste.

Golden Straw - Mango, Strawberries, Pineapple Juice, Ice cream:

The perfect balance of fruity sweet and sour is present in this refreshing smoothie. Fresh strawberries are used in every golden drink.

Tutti Berries - Mixed Berries, Pineapple & Orange Juice, Ice cream.

It was like a tutti fruity party of united berry flavours.

Tropical - Banana, Coconut, Pineapple Juice, Ice cream:This is my favourite out of the whole range. The coconut element is what makes this drink so tropical.

Mango Blues - Mango, Blueberries, Banana, Mango & Orange Juice, Ice cream:

The combination of orange, mango, banana and blueberry works well. The citrus taste of orange stands out in this refreshing smoothie.
